What size is side plate armor? Generally, size plates are 6" x 6" or 6" x 8". If it is a 6" x 8" plate then the armor is 8 inches vertically. Some carriers have side plates higher which can cause discomfort in your armpit - unless you are taller. We do not recommend 6" x 8" side plates unless you are 6 feet tall or higher.
